Terms of service
Last updated 13 October 2026
Freebooter is run by Josh Tokarsky, an individual in British Columbia, Canada ("we"). By creating an account you agree to these terms. Questions: hello@freebooter.app.
What Freebooter does
You describe the boat you want in a brief. Each day we gather public boat listings from marketplaces, judge new ones against your brief with automated models, and show the matches in your feed and, if you choose, in an email digest. Every match links to the original listing; we don't sell boats, aren't a party to any sale, and don't vouch for listings, sellers or our models' judgments. Check a boat yourself, and survey it, before you buy.
Credits and pricing
- Credits cost 10¢ each, bought in tens, at least 50 ($5) at a time, in US dollars, through Stripe.
- Each active brief uses 4 credits a day, plus one for each further 8 areas past 25 it covers. The editor shows a brief's daily price before you save it. "Collect now" uses 5.
- New accounts get 20 free credits.
- Credits never expire. When you run out, your briefs pause; nothing is deleted, and you can resume them after buying more.
- Credits have no cash value, can't be transferred, and are only for use in Freebooter. We may change prices for future use with notice in the app; credits you hold keep working.
Refunds
Within 30 days of a purchase, email hello@freebooter.app from your account's address and we'll refund the credits from that purchase you haven't used, to the original card. Credits already used aren't refundable. If the service is unavailable for an extended period because of us, we'll refund unused credits whenever you ask. Disputing a charge with your bank instead removes that purchase's unused credits from your account.
Your account
Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account. Don't use Freebooter to resell listing data, to overload or scrape our service, or for anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that does, refunding its unused credits unless the suspension is for fraud. You can stop using Freebooter at any time and delete your account from the Account page.
Listings we show
Listings belong to their sellers and the marketplaces that host them. We show facts about a listing, our own judgments of it, and a link to the original; we don't republish its text. Sellers, marketplaces and rights holders can ask us to remove a listing or stop collecting from a site; see removal requests.
No warranty
Freebooter is provided as is. Listings come from third parties and may be wrong, stale or gone; collection can miss listings or fail on a given day. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes and law
We'll post changes to these terms here and tell you in the app or by email before material ones take effect. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of British Columbia, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them at home.
